Just a stone trow away from The Joffers' House you'll find spectacular and varied National Parks. Beautiful, well sign-posted walking -and cycling routes take you through forests and heath, along the river and lakes, and in summer you will find the fields in the countryside covered with the locally grown roses; the sight of a colourfull 'patchwork blanket' of roses is a must to see!

Broekhuizenvorst is one of the lovely and historical river-villages along the Maas and the vibrant and beautiful towns such as Nijmegen and Maastricht, but also Dusseldorf in Germany just across the border, or Liege and Ghent in nearby Belgium, are wonderful destinations for a day's outing for either shopping or for discovering their rich historical and cultural facets.
